A support group for people with learning difficulties has deemed its annual meeting a success.

Around 125 people attended the New Prospects Association's AGM in the Linskill Centre, North Shields.

New Prospects supports people with learning difficulties, enabling them to have greater choice and control over where and how they live whilst helping them to realise their individual hopes and dreams.

The event, which had a fairground theme, included an afternoon of games and activities and gave the New Prospects community the chance to come together and celebrate their achievements.

There was also a sing-along with the Learning Disability Federation Choir.

Ellen Vick, chief executive of New Prospects, said: "We aim to enhance the quality of people's lives through the support that we provide. Today, we have seen that what we do really makes a difference."
