What is 'Floating Support'?
New Prospects 'Floating Support Service' can help you if you have learning disabilities and are currently, or are looking forward to becoming, a parent. We can help provide a better quality of life for you and your children through providing support services that allow you to live as independently as possible in your own home.
What kind of support is provided?
Floating Support Services can help with a range of housing related matters, including:
Learning money-handling skills such as how to apply for benefits, budget and manage debts
Finding somewhere to live and set up home
Gaining access to other support or community services
Learning domestic, life, or social skills in order to become more independent
Finding out about work or training
Dealing with other professionals, families and neighbours
Our highly qualified support staff provide whatever is needed and work to meet your own preferences and needs. Support can include help with finding and furnishing a home, cooking, cleaning and any other aspects of maintaining your tenancy.
Staff also play a major role in providing companionship, and helping you to explore and share new interests. We can help you to make new friends as well as making sure you keep in touch with old friends and family members.
